Looking for a job it is a full time job

Here are some tips to help you to find your dream job

Looking for a new job or making a change in your career can generate stress and frustration.

It is not easy to make a decision to move toward change, therefore if you have already taken that step, congratulations! It is a big step.

But, why does that change cause anxiety?

Firstly because it’s an extra workload on top of our day-to-day, hours in front of a computer looking for the ideal position, filling out endless online forms, identifying the job offers that best suit us, asking friends and family members if they know someone who is hiring, talking to headhunters who can help us, preparing our resume, etc.

And if we add to this the social pressure, news that speaks of job uncertainty and a neverending pandemic, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed.

But do not worry, because as in all jobs there will be things that we like to do more than others.

Below I would like to give you some guidelines that have worked for me as well as for other people that I have helped in my journey.

As in any job, the first thing you have to do is organize yourself, if you don’t, you will end up applying for any offer and you will lose your bearings.

Being organized will help you invest your time in a smart way, saving energy and focusing on these actions that will bring you closer to change.

How can you organize yourself? The answer is planning.

Define the job you want to apply for. How? I will explain it to you below

Once you are clear about the position you want to apply for, you have to organize your calendar so you remain focused.

Determine how many hours you are going to dedicate to the job search every day and book that time in your calendar. Do the same with the actions that are involved: sending emails, using LinkedIn, applying for offers, etc.

And finally, remember that you are not alone. Share your weekly job search plan with someone (family members, a friend) with whom at the end of each week you can review your progress. It is very important to celebrate your achievements, even if you have done an interview and it is a NO, celebrate what you have learned!
